Mi glicinia /My Wisteria

In one of the past posts I talked about my wisteria but I could not insert any picture . So here you are!
The wisteria is a very appreciated  climbing plant not only because  it provides  shade for the summer, but also for its flowers are wonderfully fragant. The only disadvantage for some people is that it  loses  its leaves in winter and ,in spring,  the flowers fall off  shortly after they bloom. Despite all this, I like it very much.
It adapts well to our acid soil  ( I live in the nothern part of  Spain) and requires  frequent pruning to keep growth restricted. It is very easy to cover a pergola as ours of 12/14 square metres in a short time. There is no need for fertilizing and watering.
Have a good evening,  although rainy!

NIDO EN CONSTRUCCIÓN/ NEST UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I had been following the steps of a blackbird  since  a few days ago when , just this morning,   I discovered  that she was building her nest in our rhododendron which is filled with ligth green new leaves at this moment.
After that  I decided to take  a picture of it  but when  I was trying to get it ,the poor bird  flew away. In fact,  I have to say that when  I was under the tree I thought that there was nobody there! Next time I will be more careful in order not to frighten her and to  avoid she leaves the good job she was doing!
On the other hand I would  like to know whether blackbirds tend to make their nests in the same places year after year or not. I will have to pay a visit to  the blog "A través del telescopio", I´m sure they will give good information about it!
Have a good day!

The other day a friend  of mine told me that her  "strelitzia" never looked gorgeous ;  the same thing happens to  mine and I can not help feeling  a bit disappointed when  it  blooms  with brown spots here and there.  I think it must be because of the  rain, or  the sudden temperature changes . I am wondering whether  the same thing  happens to yours ...

Gracias a Maite y a Frederick/ Thanks to Maite and Frederick

Yesterday Maite and Frederick, two reporters working for a  German  tv channel  that broadcasts a program about gardening,  visited my garden.
We were talking about gardens, plants, the origins of my garden and the secrets kept among plants and stones... it was a lovely morning . From here I wanted to thank them  for their kindly and exciting visit.
Some photos of that morning.

Asoma la primavera/ Spring peeks out

It is  nice to work outside in the garden, The days are longer , the weather is fine and the ground is still wet which makes cleaning easier.
I planted my violets, as every year, and all seems nicer  and pleasant.

Magnolias bloomed later than usual  and I was a bit worried , but finally ...here they are!

The wisteria is  also splendid and its scent  is gorgeous!. I have no photos at this moment. Tomorrow I will try to take some.

NICE WEEKEND!
